17an, Ramadhan, and What Not.
Okay. so first thing first. I totally forgot to tell everybody what happened on Sunday, Sept 29th. I was invited on our beloved country Independence Day celebration. And yes, for the first time in my 4 years here in Arkansas, I met with a big group of Indonesians. Foos was fabulous. Lets see.. There were ketan durian, sayur lodeh plus lontong, siomay, lumpia, klepon, etc. It was heavenly.
Well, what is an Independence Day Celebration without the games right? So we played bottle soccer, cracker eating contest, tug-a-war, and singing. The best part about all this was Chris was with me. And for the first time, he participated in what we called “fun”.
He just had his 4 wisdom teeth taken out a few days back, so he was off limit when it came to any eating contests. He did tug-a-war and bottle soccer. It was HILARIOUS! Oh my God! I could just fell on the ground laughing. In the end, my boy did me proud. =)
Next, the Ramadhan. Boooo! I missed the Eid prayer. Its okay, there will be others. Bismillah. I did pretty good fasting in the midst of a blazing summer. There were days I wanted to cry so bad because of how hot it was outside, but then I realized that the minute I waste my tears would be the minute I waste liquid supply in my body. So, no, I didnt cry nor did I break my fast.
Anyhow, it was such a great end of August and beginning of September.
Happy birthday to my bestest brother Arditto Grahadi. Always know that your sister loves you so very much and wishes you nothing but great year ahead of you. You made me so proud.
And Eid Mubarrak to everybody. May this year’s Ramadhan does nothing but getting us closer to God, our family, our friends, and our loved ones.
Love,
Miss D
